Synopsis: In this lecture we present a formula to find the roots of an equation of the 2nd degree. Your deduction is done through the method of "completing squares" which has been covered in previous lessons. This formula is also known as the quadratic formula. It is noteworthy that it is due to the Hindu mathematician Sridhara, 10th century, and takes its name from the quadratic formula, due to the fact that it was published in a book written by that other Hindu mathematician of the 12th century book.
