Description

Synopsis: the physical properties of the substances are related to the type of interaction between its particles. In the case of molecular substances consisting of molecules, these interactions are called intermolecular interactions and can be:
interactions dipole-dipole induced instantaneous or London forces, which occur between nonpolar molecules (snapshots occur due to relocation of the electron cloud dipoles);
dipole-dipole interactions, which occur between polar molecules;
hydrogen bonds, which are a special case of dipole-dipole interaction.
A physical property of fluids, related to intermolecular interaction, is the viscosity. This property indicates the resistance that a fluid offers to flow in a certain temperature. Thus, if a fluid is highly viscous, the flow is slower; if the fluid is slightly viscous, the flow is faster.
