Synopsis: One of the most important publishing projects of UNESCO in the last thirty years, the General History of Africa collection is a major milestone in the process of recognition of the cultural heritage of Africa, because it allows us to understand the historical development of the African peoples and their relationship to other civilizations from a panoramic, diachronic and objective view, obtained from within the continent. The collection was produced by more than 350 experts from different fields of knowledge, under the direction of an International Scientific Committee composed of 39 intellectuals, of which two thirds were African.
